Wit beyond measure is a man's greatest treasure.
Young people cannot know what old people think and feel. But the old are conscious, but forget what being young means.
I'm not the weapon after all, thought Harry. His heart swelled with happiness and relief, and he felt like joining in as they heard Sirius tramping past their door towards Buckbeak's room, singing "God Rest Ye, Merry Hippogriffs" at the top of his voice.
The one with the power to vanquish the - Dark Lord approaches... Born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not... and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives. The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies.
But some part of him realized, even as he fought to break free from Lupin, that Sirius had never kept him waiting before. Sirius had risked everything, always, to see Harry, to help him. If Sirius was not reappearing out of that archway when Harry was yelling for him as though his life depended on it, the only possible explanation was that he could not come back... that he really was...
Dumbledore lowered his hands and stared at Harry through his half-moon glasses. "The moment has come for me to tell you what I should've told you five years ago, Harry. Sit down, please. You will know it all. I just ask you a little patience. You can scream... Do whatever you want... When I will have finished. I won't impede it."
You don't know what it means! You... none of you... has had to do anything of the sort! Do you think that learning by heart a couple of spells and conjuring them against him, as we do in class is enough? But there is nothing between you and your death other than... your brain, your liver, or something... how can you reason when you know that in a split second you will be assasined, tortured or see your friends die.
